Bring the feeling of summer into your shop, and set the stage for a new and refreshing shopping season. When planning an event or promotion, get your emails, posters, and mailings sent out in advance! Also, word of mouth is a powerful tool. Check your community and neighboring stores for dates of special events so you can plan yours at the same time. This will ensure lots of traffic coming through your store to make for a successful event.
Set a summer theme such as Summer Nights in your destination of choice (i.e.: the beach, lake, or campground). Get shopping, and transform your store into whatever summer theme you have chosen! Don’t forget the summer tunes and your flips flops.
Plan out fun discount days where select items are on special at a certain percentage off full price. Have inexpensive door prizes like notepads, pencils, tea towels or even a small box sign that goes with your theme. In our Lancaster Showroom, we spin an antique game wheel on Mondays to determine customer surprise discounts. Other ways you can do this are by picking a shell out of sand, picking a rubber duck, or picking a pebble. Your customer will find their discount on the underside of your trinket.
If your customers bring their little ones, always have something fun for them. Stickers and coloring books in a quiet corner keep them active while your customer shops. Balloons are always a treat!
