Since the early days of Primitives by Kathy nearly 20 years ago, Kathy Phillips has had an interest in helping people with special needs. From using workers at Goodwill Industries for product fulfillment to employing special needs workers in many areas of her business, Kathy is dedicated to enriching the lives of those in need.

Most recently PBK has sponsored Scout, one of the equine residents at Leg Up Farms in York, Pennsylvania. Leg Up Farms is a non-profit therapy center for children with special needs whose mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs and their families through support and customized programs. They offer engaging environments where children can play, learn and interact with each other. Scout helps with their therapeutic riding program which provides a unique environment for children to overcome their most difficult challenges.
