Volunteers from Primitives by Kathy attended State Representative Mike Sturla’s fourth annual ‘Back to School Giveaway’ at the Lancaster Recreation Center to help hand out backpacks and school supplies to Lancaster children.

Donated by people all over the county, students ranging from Kindergarten to 5th Grade took
home backpacks, pencils, notebooks, and other supplies to prepare them for a successful year. The giveaway also included a free lunch, face painting, and music.

Mike Sturla’s Legislative Assistant, Mena Rodriguez says, “There’s a lot of kids who would not be able to go to school with a backpack and supplies that they need. For families that have a lot of children, it becomes very expensive.This program is helping offset the financial burden many families face”.
