Girls on the Run. CALL ME A CAB!

GOTR---2014Inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy and confident, female empowerment is a cause that Kathy holds near and dear to her heart. The transformation into Super Woman starts at a young age with the building of confidence and exhibiting the fruit of hard work and determination to girls and young women.

This May, Kathy leaped at the opportunity to help sponsor AND participate in the Girls on the Run’s Lancaster 5K race.  It was an extraordinary event with well over 2,000 participants running.  The PBK’s “CALL ME A CAB” team was more that eager to help prove how strong these girls are (with many of the girls completing the race WELL before us).

The Girls on the Run lesson encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development.  They also develop important strategies and skills to help them navigate life experiences. The girls start with getting a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them.  Then they look at the importance of team work and healthy relationships.  And, finally, the girls explore how they can positively connect with and shape the world.

This is a GREAT organization and a fantastic event. Everyone here at PBK was proud that we could be a part of it!!
